Valentine's Day Poem - Just For Fun

Don’t bring me roses or chocolates tonight
Bring me diamonds that glitter in moonlight

A Mercedes would be nice as well
Rack the cards, the house we can sell

Don’t forget that cruise you promised
This weekend off we go to the Bahamas
Mumm champagne will do just fine
Before we go out, of course to dine

Caviar is expected
Forget it, and you will be rejected
If you insist on bringing home candy
Please make sure they are filled with brandy

To top the night off, I will have to insist
That you give me a back rub, I will not resist
Before I go darling, there is one more thing
Make sure the diamond is a four carat ring!

Just to let you know, I wrote this just for fun as the title says. I as well as many others I am sure are sick to death of Special Days and holidays being over commercialized. Spend, spend, spend no, no, no. There are many ways you can show your love for someone on Valentine's Day without lavishing them with gifts.

What's Wrong With This Picture?

What’s wrong with this picture I ask myself

I go to the cupboard and open the door
Bread bags open half eaten I roar
Why can’t they just finish one bag at a time?
Oh no they want fresh every single time

I go to the fridge and see cartons galore
They are all empty I’ll have to go to the store
Why is it no one in this house called a home
Cannot throw anything out as I moan

The dogs water dish is empty I go fill it fast
Why me I ask it’s not that big of a task
Just give them a drink, fill it up at the sink
Why am I the only one to do this I say
Make my life easier you can do it today

Crumbs on the counter here we go again
The day has just started and I’m going insane
What would it take for them to just lend a hand?
Help me clean up before I complain and remand

Your clothes are in piles all over the floor
Clean them up I am not your maid anymore.

Life is precious goes too fast

Death can come too soon

Disastrous deadly

Much destruction left behind

Years to recover
